Well into the Last Year

We are now a couple months into our third and final year of seminary. As far as home-life goes, though we've been doing homeschool all along, this year we are doing a homeschool co-op with three other families, seven children in all. That includes a high school biology class and a literature and writing class. The kids are really enjoying that.

Also, Ioann (Chance) now has a job outside the house, working for a greenhouse / landscaper off and on. He is really enjoying that, especially tucking away some money! We are also thinking that we will give him some driving lessons before we leave here, because the quiet country roads around here are probably a great place to learn to drive, and he will be turning fifteen as we move next summer.

Marie is walking now. Fittingly, she started walking on her birthday, October 1st; that just seems like a thing you do when you are one year old. Though we now have to keep our eyes open, she is most definitely enjoying her newfound freedom. And we are thankful that we have several sets of eyes to keep on her.

With this being our final school year, it certainly feels different, and in many ways we are preparing to move and start serving a parish somewhere. We have started practicing, once a week, singing and serving the liturgy: the wives and daughters are getting used to singing through the liturgy, which is no small feat, and my classmate and I are practicing what we need to know in the sanctuary. The more we can get used to it, the more we can pray, which, of course, is the goal.

Senia (Dear) and I just celebrated our sixteenth wedding anniversary, and everybody piled together for a family photo:

Before we know it, this school year will be over, and we will be headed to a parish out in the West. We wish everybody a wonderful Thanksgiving in just a few weeks. And as always, feel free to write anytime. We love to hear from you all.
